- Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife tip. Mix them into the cream and milk and heat everything up, the mixture should not boil.
- In a large bowl, mix the egg yolks and sugar with an electric mixer.
- Slowly add the hot mixture of cream, milk and vanilla seeds to the mixture of egg yolks and sugar.
- Pour the mixture into ceramic or glass cups and place them in a large ceramic baking tray.
