Accessibility Statement

1. Introduction

Gorenje, d.o.o. as part of Hisense Group is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its products and services in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services, as well as applicable national legislation. Our goal is to provide an equal user experience for all individuals, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities.

2. Legal Compliance and Compliance Level

This accessibility statement has been prepared in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882. A professional compliance analysis and an accessibility assessment of all key digital products and services have been conducted.

Our services are partially compliant with the required accessibility standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and European Standard EN 301 549.

We have implemented a range of accessibility features across our platforms.

Visual Accessibility

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Content is structured using semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to ensure compatibility with screen readers.
  • Alternative Text: Non-decorative images include descriptive alternative text to convey meaning to users relying on assistive technologies.

Navigation and Interaction

  • Keyboard Navigation: our websites are partially accessible via keyboard.
  • Responsive Design: Interfaces are designed to adapt to various screen sizes and orientations, ensuring usability across desktop and mobile devices.

Assistive Technology Support

  • Speech Recognition: Input fields and controls are labeled to support voice navigation tools.
  • ARIA Landmarks: Key content areas are marked with ARIA landmarks to improve navigation for screen reader users.
  • Form Accessibility: form fields are associated with labels or ARIA attributes to ensure their purpose is communicated clearly.

We are continuously working on improving accessibility through regular reviews.

3. Exceptions and Alternative Solutions

Despite our efforts to ensure full accessibility, certain functionalities are still undergoing adjustments. These include:

- Keyboard navigation: We have identified several keyboard navigation issues on our sites, including but not limited to the following components and pages: navigation menu, carousel, search, cookie banner, popups.

- Contrast issues: Due to the constraints of the Gorenje corporate design, links in the footer, certain buttons and headings have contrast levels close to the accessibility threshold, which may affect readability. As an alternative, we are working on implementing a high-contrast theme for users.

- Screen reader compatibility: We have identified issues related to semantics and ARIA attributes on the following pages and components: tabs, carousel, banner. Users should note that this can lead to suboptimal user experience.

- Text alternatives for images: Some images are missing alt texts. We are in the process of updating our images to include meaningful and descriptive alternative text.

- 400% zoom: We have identified lack of support with zoom functionality including but not limited to the checkout process, updating profile as well as newsletter subscription

- Form accessibility: We have identified issues related to Autocomplete attributes and missing labels on forms on the following pages: login, checkout, update profile, cart, search results.

We’re planning the remediation of the above-mentioned issues to be implemented in the course of 2025.

As alternative solutions, we provide customized support services for users requiring additional assistance.
